Legacy Work
We engage with building owners and maintainers to rectify their buildings' non-compliances and bring them up-to-date and fully fire-compliant.
This work is commonly referred to as legacy work within the fire industry.
With the Building Safety Act which came into law in October 2023, there have been many changes in the requirements for higher-risk buildings and increased responsibilities for building owners.
We understand and adhere to the public safety regulations under the Building Safety Act and can guide you and help you meet your legal obligations in passive fire protection.
The golden thread.
To support our clients in maintaining a ‘golden thread’ of information, we capture all inspections and reports electronically.
The golden thread of information in construction refers to the essential information about a building. This encapsulates the design phase and continues through the entire lifecycle of the building. The thread should include, but is not limited to:
- the building’s fire safety features, including all fire protection systems included in the building.
- the design of the building
- the materials used in the construction of the building and all accompanying information about the building materials.
- information about the escape routes of the building
- information about the emergency procedures of the building should a fire event occur.
The purpose of the golden thread of information is to ensure that the works confirm building regulations, as well as identifying, understanding, managing, and mitigating building safety risks to prevent or reduce the consequences of fire spread or structural collapse.
Trust the specialists to make your building compliant.
Since the Building Safety Act was released, we have been collaborating with high-profile clients across the country to review the integrity of their passive fire safety systems.
